Sub Procedures

Hello! Welcome to elementary school vocal music at Cloverbank Elementary School.

Here are all the details you need to know to start the day.

  • Bus Duty: The day begins with Bus Duty at 9am at the Bus Doors. Please keep track of the buses coming in with the clipboard kept above the phone.

  • Schedule: My schedule can be found on the file cabinet near my door or on the piano.

  • Seating Charts: Seating charts are next to the computer.

  • Clipboard: The clipboard near the seating charts is what I use to take notes about classes or students. Please jot down anything I should know.

  • Fire Drill: Exit the room, turn right, go outside to the grass beside the gym.

  • Lockdown: Check the halls and allow any students in, lock the door, and go to the corner near the water fountain ensuring no students can be seen through the door window.

  • Chorus (if today is chorus day): If you feel comfortable, the songs to be rehearsed are on the iPad in the app ForScore. A linked video explains the playlist. If you don’t want to run chorus, please let the office know at the beginning of the day so they can announce a cancellation.

Technology Notes:

  • When you turn on the Newline board, select Computer Input.

  • To display windows, drag them to the right to get them on the smartboard.

  • The big volume knob on the receiver to the left of the desk controls all sound.

If you have any questions, call or email. If I don’t answer, Mrs. Dubel can help with music questions. Ms. Kelday (Library) or Mrs. Pawlak (Computer Lab) can help with technology. Nick Gallardo and Ali Dubel also have my cell phone.

SUB PLANS FOR JANUARY 12th

 

1st Grade (12:30-1:15) Kindergarten (1:18-2:03) and 2nd Grade (2:06-2:51)

Everything is guided by YouTube playlists.
If something isn’t working or time runs short, you can switch to the second playlist (videos only) or coloring pages at any time.

Welcome & Sing-Along (Playlist 1)

  • Students sit in their seats per the seating chart.

  • Start the main YouTube playlist.

  • The first songs are sing-along songs.

  • Students stay in their spots and sing along.

Boomwhackers

  • Pass out boomwhackers.

  • Today we are only using 5 colors:

    • 🔴 Red

    • 🟠 Orange

    • 🟡 Yellow

    • 🟢 Dark Green

    • 🟣 Purple

  • Follow along with the boomwhacker videos.

  • Boomwhackers must be played on the ground

  • When finished:

    • Collect boomwhackers and return them to the bucket.

  • Students may:

    • Dance

    • OR play egg shakers along with the music

📺 Quiet Video Time

  • Switch to the second playlist (See below, it’s videos only).

  • Students sit quietly and watch.

🖍️ Coloring Pages

  • Coloring pages are available.

  • Crayons are in containers by the door, behind the garbage can.

  • Students color quietly at their seats.

👍 Notes for the Sub

  • You can move to the video-only playlist at any time if needed.

  • If energy is high → switch to videos or coloring.

  • If something runs short → just move to the next section.
